The UPS Store, Inc. Opens its Doors in the Metaverse with the Launch of “The Helping You Be Unstoppable Store”
Created in Collaboration with Inc. & Fast Company, The Helping You Be Unstoppable Store Features Exclusive Content from Experts Designed to Assist Small Business Owners
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 11, 2022 – Today, The UPS Store, Inc., the world's largest franchisor of retail shipping, postal, print and business service centers and a subsidiary of UPS (NYSE: UPS), announced an expansion of its footprint into the metaverse with the opening of “The Helping You Be Unstoppable Store” in Decentraland, a virtual reality platform. Created in collaboration with business media brands Inc. and Fast Company, The Helping You Be Unstoppable Store will provide small business owners with exclusive content, tips and advice to help them in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
“Because small businesses are always evolving, we’ve envisioned and built a place in the metaverse that will enable small business owners to thrive and be unstoppable in their pursuits,” said Michelle Van Slyke, senior vice president of marketing and sales for The UPS Store, Inc. “We’ve created a virtual ‘business school’ jam-packed with resources and small business knowledge from three of the best experts – The UPS Store, Fast Company and Inc.”
Purposefully designed to empower small business owners, the store has been imagined as an immersive and interactive place to learn by doing. It consists of three virtual floors, all accessible in Decentraland. Floors include:
- Floor 1 – “The Newsstand”: Here, visitors can access licensed content from Inc. and Fast Company, focused heavily on early-stage businesses and most relevant to solopreneurs.
- Floor 2 – “Be Unstoppable Academy” – Visitors to this floor can participate in a series of education-focused modules on topics such as brand-building, sales, marketing and time management.
- Floor 3 – “The Amphitheater” – This floor houses content from three small business experts: Brian Moran, Founder & CEO of SmallBusinessEdge; Melinda Emerson, bestselling author and the “SmallBizLady;” and Damon Brown, small business expert, author and public speaker. Content from these experts consists of videos addressing a variety of topics including access to capital, financial cash flow, emerging technology and more.
“The Fast Company and Inc. brands are committed to supporting the innovators and entrepreneurs of the small business community, and we are thrilled to work with The UPS Store as we enter the metaverse for the first time together,” said John Donnelly, Chief Revenue Officer, Mansueto Ventures, parent company of Inc. and Fast Company. “By developing critical content for small businesses while providing them the opportunity to explore emerging technologies, we hope to share an experience that will inspire their unstoppable journeys.”
